Go to the websites of the branches you want to join and check out the requirments and stuff. It will probably be on there. Or you can request information.

I second that motion... You can also get details on exactly what may be required of you... Do your research and don't take it lightly.

I would also suggest website or better yet a recruiter. BUT whatever you do, dont let any recruiter sucker you into anything you dont want! Some of them jsut want the bonus and could care less what works for you! My husband enlisted for five years because of his MOS he choose. Minimum was 5. Good luck!

my hubby is an officer in the army, make sure you know that if you sign for 4 years active duty its really 8 years, 4 years active, 4 years reserve, they can call you back in to active duty anytime during those 4 years! the military is a WONDERFUL career with amazing benefits! health care, housing, food, always have a paycheck, you should go talk to a recruiter, alot of people join the air force, it's supposibly the easiest and they get made fun of for it, but hey it serves its purpose and i respect anyone in any branch! if you have any questions about anything you can private message me! HOOAH!

I agree! My friend is in the air force. He got a 20,000 sign on bonus for 2 years doing plumbing work. And never got sent over seas and will be done in one month!

When I enlisted, I discovered that with certain MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) you had to enlist for a certain length of time. It's not like that with all MOS, but there are a few that have certain requirements. I enlisted as a 21Bravo and in order to get my security clearance I had to enlist for a minimum of 6 years. I never ended up going

OKay... I don't know about other branches but, the Navy and Marine sites are absolute BS and lie worse than the recruiters... they just want you to join so they sugar coat it all... you'd be better off talking to people that are in, if you're interested in either of these branches. Good Luck!

Idk why everyone thinks AF is easiest...  It's not.

All branches, though, have much to offer. I respect them all equally and those who serve.

UGH! When I went to MEPS, everyone that was enlisting in the Marines would not stop saying that!! I give anyone who says it a nasty glare now because ever since it has annoyed the shit outta me
