3d untrasound question.

How much is a good price to pay for one & when is the soonest i will see gender on it?

i know i just posted this but got pretty much no feed back.

I paid $150 and that included dvd, and a ton of pictures. I think the earliest anyone can tell is 16 weeks.

Most places will schedule them for around 28 weeks. As far as price, they are kind of pricey, it all depends on where you live.

The earliest I've seen the gender on an U/S is at the end of my 13th week. However, up until 20 weeks, all anyone can do is make an educated guess. If you want to be sure that the gender is correct, wait until 20 weeks.

Looks like a reasonable deal. You do get the 20 week anatomy scan from your ob too so keep that in mind. It most likely won't be in 3d though. I got a ton of U/S because I'm high risk. (1 every 2 weeks) They have 3d capabilities on their machines so I always got them periodically throughout my pregnancies. The ones that came out the best and most baby looking were around the beginning of the 3rd trimester. If you were looking for gender stuff though, that package would work.

She said i would get my gender scan much later because i just recently got an ultrasound. I know she said after 20 weeks sometime but we already wanted to get a 3D ultrasound and DH has no patients because we are really trying for a boy seeing as this may be our last child.

Even back in the day when i went to a regular ob, I got an U/S done at 12 weeks (give or take a couple of weeks) for the genetic testing and then again a week or 2 around 20 weeks. That's pretty standard, so i don't really understand the reasoning for pushing it back, but whatever. lol  

If you guys want to do something special and get the 3d pictures, there's nothing wrong with that at all. I think that if i didn't get quite so many, it would have been something I would be interested in too.

Yeah i mean either way we planned on doing one just not so early. we were gonna do one later on around 30 weeks but now hes obsessed with doing it around 16 and getting the second one that comes with it around 18
