NEVER heard of that. wow. That's crazy. Shouldn't they be attached to the walls? At least in my school they are..

I don't think it should be killed. Especially if it hasn't killed or attacked a person. I think drastic measures such as killing the animal should wait until an attack actually occurs. If the shark's only swimming near the shore, that wouldn't immediately cause me to fear for someone's life.
But I'm always one for leaving animals and nature be, so yeah

I don't think they should kill the animal even after an attack. It's not like the attack was premeditated. There is no reason for retribution in my eyes.

I see what you mean, and I definitely agree about retribution. I think killing the shark may be the best action in ensuring the public's safety after an attack, unless there's a less drastic way to do so other than closing the beach.

It doesn't ensure public safety by killing the shark, another one will just come along.

You go in the ocean you take the risk of being bitten.

Killing the shark will not ensure public safety. The only way to ensure safety from a shark bite is to just not go in the water. The sharks were here first and the ocean is their home. We are just visitors.
It would be the same as some stranger coming to your (general you) home and killing you because they wanted to use the area you live in.

Exactly.

I hate when a shark attacks a human and then every one and their mother goes on a witch hunt to find that shark. Same with bears or any animal that has attacked humans.

It's like 'oh good job, I bet the whole species has learned it's lesson now!'

Killing an animal for attacking makes zero sense.

?

Well, if you're killing an animal that has proven to be a potential threat to the community.. I think it makes TOTAL sense.

But it's only doing what is in its instinct to do. It's not doing it to be malicious.

How so? All it does it teach humans that if an animal inconviences them by harming people for going into their natural habitat... Kill the beast and continue doing whatever pleases you, all in the name of making you happy. Sounds quite selfish to me.

Newsflash......all wild animals are a threat to people's safety. If a shark attacks a person in their home (not in the ocean......their HOME) fine kill that one. You go into the woods and get attacked by a bear it was you that went into his home, wild bear roaming in a neighborhood fine kill it if you can't safely relocate it. People are not important enough to kill any animal in their path because they "interfere in their fun".

It is.completely selfish. Sharks have been around longer than humans probably will even survive. It is stupid and selfish for us to think that we are so important we can kill an animal in its home because it interfered with our fun. :/ I understand killing for food, not for fun or sport.

Yeah, well that has us killing alll kinds of animals "just in case".

Not good for the Earth, the food chain, ecosystems, not at all. So no, it makes zero sense.

I think it's funny that you're so rabidly pro-life and yet, are in favor of killing sharks just for the smurfing hell of it because they (very rarely) accidentally bite people.

We have a lot of shark attacks here and they always happen to people who don't listen to the warnings. If you swim at a beach with a shark net and warning system you're not going to get attacked. We have shark patrol here where planes fly up and down the coast looking for sharks and then alerting the authorities. If you're going to be stupid and not heed these warnings then its your own damn fault

You're an idiot. It makes zero sense at all. We should just kill everything that's a threat. OMG a crab pinched my foot while I was walking in the ocean we should get rid of them ALL. It could have take a toe from me!
