re: Sharks: Kill or Not?

posted 11th Jan
As an avid shark fan. ( I swear, shark week is the one of the BEST weeks in the WHOLE year! Lol), I can tell you there have been numerous studies to PROVE that sharks don't "eat" humans. They will not intentionally go after nor seek out humans over their normal prey items.

You are more likely to die from a VENDING machine accident then you are from a shark attack... by about 2x. Maybe we should get rid of vending machines as well.  .

Thanks lol. It's an inside joke that started in another on of my threads.   Hilarious read if you wanted to go look.   (Do you have a condom?)

I was a beach lifeguard in high school. It really does happen all the time. I would literally see sharks almost every day. You take a risk going into the ocean; just like you take a risk getting into your car, getting onto a plane, using a vending machine (hehe I liked that stat!).

Shark week is celebrated like a holiday in my house. And there's way too many studies proving that sharks aren't the bad guys humans try to say they are.... I think its horrible to kill a shark in any circumstances. Its humans being stupid that causes shark attacks.

I honestly think it's all about how selfish and arrogant some humans are by nature.

We think we OWN everything and anything that was here before us, should just go get smurfed and move out of OUR way. And that's not the way it should be at all. The shark population is decreasing, fast, and it's because they have the reputation of being blood hungry, man eaters.

I mean, Killer Whales kill people all the time, that are suppose to be "trained", I don't see the outcry for them to be slaughtered.

And that's just it. MOST shark attacks happen when they are being provoked. ( Trying to hand feed them, chumming, etc.).

I mean you shouldn't tempt a cobra and not expect to get bit right?

Yup. Or surfers going out at KNOWN times when sharks feed most (sunrise and sunset).

Exactly. It's common sense. And most times even the VICTIMS don't blame the sharks. They admit they shouldn't have been doing what they were doing, or acknowledge they were in the sharks home.

Cruelly torture it like it does to humans? Are you serious? Sharks don't go around chowing on humans just to be dicks, dude. They don't even *like* the way we taste, they most often mistake us for floundering sea lions, etc.

Sharks are wild animals-they aren't "cruelly torturing" anyone-that's pretty much something only humans do.

They would most likely close the beach and try to capture it & relocate. Shark fishing is fairly easy.
