Go & Grow toddler formula?

posted 11th Jan
So.. DD will be 1 next Thursday. She's been transitioned to whole milk and she doesn't take a bottle during the day. At night she stills needs/wants it to go to sleep. The other day our last can of formula ran out and we weren't going to buy more since she was transitioned to milk, however, she doesn't seem to be doing well at night off of it. She's waking 3-4 times a night (she's not a great sleeper anyways) but Im wondering if I should do the toddler formula for awhile? Since she seems 100% not ready to give up formula for night time.

Thoughts? Advice?.. My son wasn't like this because he took a binky so he had some comfort throughout the night if he woke and didn't need a baba.

How much solid foods is she eating a day? Whole milk isn't suppose to really replace the formula so you wouldn't give whole milk as much as you would formula. Sera was limited to two cups a day. One for breakfast and one for dinner.

Solids should replace formula not whole milk.

I would just fed s snack before bed, lo should be eating real food now anyways.
Mine is 11 months and ff, but has whole milk as well, and eats 3 meals plus 3 snacks a day since 6 months old (whole milk at 9 months)

She gets breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between. And she gets a sippy with milk for meals and a sippy of water throughout the day. However she's very "let me do it" type of personality and she refuses to let anyone feed her. She wants to do it and so half of her food ends up in her lap. I try to feed her and it's a fight.

Awww lol. Are you giving her formula at night through a bottle? I can only think of two things. She's making up for her lack of actual food intake in the middle of the night which is why she's wanting formula OR (if she's getting a bottle) she's using the bottle for comfort.

We did toddler formula for a brief time with my daughter after she had a seizure.

I'm fairly certain it's the latter. She isn't "hungry" when she wakes. She wont take a paci though and she's not a thumb sucker. Lately I've had to bring her to bed with me and she's perfectly content, but then I get no sleep so I'll have to wait 45 minutes or so until she's completely out and take her back to her crib.

I think I may just have to cosleep and get used to her toe up my nose. I'm going to try just going back to a bottle of formula before bed. I don't want her to be hungry if she is and we'll work on getting rid of bottles a few months down the road.

She has been my difficult child by far. She's very determined in what she wants. We "tried" CIO for 10 minutes one night a few months ago. It didn't work so I still rock her to sleep.. lol
