check ups and emergency appointments are different... at least at all the doctors DS and I have had... usually they book up 1/2 the day or so for real appointment and the rest is for when kids get sick or injured... hope that helps

well if it's an emergency you go to the ER. If our kids gets a cold or stomach bug then we usually keep them home to rest up. There actually aren't a lot of things we would run to the doctors for.

New dr seem like they suck

Usually the checkups are scheduled differently than sick visits.

At my daughters office they leave some openings for sick visits. That way they're not completely booked for those who are sick..

I made my daughters check up appointment in October, and its the 16th of this month.

I tried making an appointment sooner but they said they couldn't schedule that far in advance. This is the second time they've done this. When I needed to make her 1 year check up they didn't have anything until like April!
