She wanted me to "cook" her a salad

posted 11th Jan
Cora said that she wanted me to cook her a salad for breakfast. She got out all the ingredients and told me to cook it

So I chopped things and put it all in a bowl

NO MOMMY! I want it HOT!

I tried to explain it to her that salads aren't hot and that she probably wouldn't like it.

But it was a lost cause

She wore me down and I tossed the whole salad into a pan, added a tiny amount of salad dressing and cooked it until the spinach was wilted and the tomatoes were warmed through

She ate the whole thing! I couldn't believe it. I might have to write this recipe down and save it

She really does. I see a future in the culinary arts for her. She comes up with things that I think will be terrible, but they end up really good

She just has a knack for mixing the right foods

About a year ago, I told her that if she wanted a snack, she'd have to make it herself.

So she went to the kitchen and got to work. What she ended up with was crackers with cream cheese, a jalepeno slice, and a slice of a cherry tomato (I did all the cutting, no worries)

I still make that for a snack a few times a month. It is SO good

That sounds delicious!

My daughter likes to dip things in other things and that's the extent of culinary talent to date  .

I'm thinking she is going to land herself one hell of a good cook someday so she doesn't starve.

Cora loves to be in the kitchen. And when she watches shows, you'll never guess what she chooses to watch?

Cooking and baking tutorials on youtube. She'd rather watch them than cartoons.

I am sure your can think of a healthier way for this but...
bacon and greens salad
greens picked that morning
put them into a bowl
chop onion greens add to skillet with bacon
cook them together
chop up bacon add it and greens to bowl
drizzle grease over it...
this sounds gross its actually pretty good but its a warm salad lol
I am sure you can find a way to use it and make it healthyier
also consider steaming the veggies itll be super healthy for her still

ugh so much fat and grease. Thanks but I'll pass

I think the next one I'll do will be spinach, onions, tomatoes, a few jalepenos (kid loves jalepenos), and pine nuts

Could always do turkey bacon or some sort of fish if you want meat.
