Water broke, but sent home?

I'm 36 weeks today. At 4, I woke up to pee, ads went right back to bed. My fiancé woke up 20 minutes later and woke me up because the bed was SOAKED. No smell, but even the mattress was saturated. I'm at the hospital now and they are saying my water didn't break. I'm so sure it did...

If it was my water, will baby be okay? I'm scared of his fluid level being too low. Any advice will help.

You might have peed the bed. It's common at that stage to not completely empty your bladder.

Did they test the fluid with the paper to see if it changed color? (Indicating amniotic fluid not pee

Make them recheck cause a mama on here had her water break and at first they told her no and they rechecked later and it surely was.

Has more leaked?

If they are not going to test your fluid, I would be pretty pushy for an ultrasound to check fluid levels before you leave. It could have been your bladder.. But if it was your water you would probably start contractions, or develop a fever if they sent you home. Baby would be fine at this stage if your water did break as far as delivery goes.

Maybe it was your SO?

my waters broke/gushed at 3.15am on my due date (it took about 5 mins for them to slow down gushing out) and then i leaked constantly and they wouldn't induce me for 2 days after that because they weren't sure it was my waters... even though i was leaking everywhere, every time i moved. every contraction i bassically gushed. and they still didn't help. took a couple days of constant visits to get them to examin me properly and then another day after that for them to decide to induce me. Very stupid of them, me and baby could have got a major infection!

My waters broke at 38 weeks, kept me in and induced me after two days off not progressing. You and baby can both catch infection when waters break. Me and DS where kept in for observation for a day to make sure no infection had set in. If it is your waters then I would insist on being monitored at least! Good luck

My friend's waters broke 2 weeks ago and she didnt have her baby until yesterday. They replenish constantly.

Over here if your waters broke early and you dont have contrations you just cant go swimming or have a bath so you dont get an infection and go on antibiotics until you go into established labour.

My water broke and the tested it and it came back negative
30 minutes later try tested again and it was positive

Make them test again

If te sample has been in the air too long it will read negative. Happened to me and the doc couldn't figure out why my fluids were so low.

what test are they using. there are multiple tests and some are more reliable then others. Have they done multiple tests (types)?

They did one test but came up negative, I was having contractions 2-3 min apart and idk... But I got a new nurse (thank god, other one was a bitch) and I'm getting an ultrasound to check fluid levels. I don't care if it was me whizzing myself, id prefer that to a broken water! I just don't think it was.... Hm. Anyways , ill update soon as I know!

which test was it? Amnisure? Ferning? nitrizine?
