Pre labor?

Starting at 1:30 am I woke up to really bad lower back pain which I haven't had all pregnancy. I've also been getting period cramps. The LBP comes and goes it will get intense then ease off. I'm 36 +6 and with my first I never went into labor so I'm not sure. No spotting or abnormal discharge just the pain that comes and goes and some minor contractions.

I'm obviously going to call my midwife when they get in the office. I'm just curious how labor started for others.

With my first and second, I had no labour signs at all until the day I actually went into labour. But with my third I had contractions 3 weeks before I actually went into labour.

my waters broke on my due date, then i had 2in10 contractions for 3 days before being induced on the 4th day, and then c-section.
