Mirtazapine

posted 11th Jan
I started this yesterday, took my first pill around 10pm.

half an hour later I felt really spaced out then I felt quite drowsy and went to bed 11pm.

this morning- ah man! ridiculously tired. I had a big mug of coffee and THREE pro-plus tablets and yet I STILL felt like I could just fall asleep standing up!

the school run was a nightmare, school is only about 100 metres away we walked it but I felt like I could not keep my eye on my youngest properly, he's only 3 and not reliable yet to not run off and get lost or knocked over so it was hard work trying to stay alert enough to be vigilant as one needs to be with a 3-year-old.

since getting home have drank a can of Monster and then I went to bed... almost fell asleep even though I was fighting it and hadn't wanted to go to bed but felt drawn to it like a magnet... luckily the Monster drink managed to beat it but I still feel groggy even after all these stimulants!

has anyone else experienced this debilitating side-effect? do you get used to it and if so how long did it take?

What dosage are you taking?
That sound pretty standard for the lower dosages. I was like that and had to have my dosage increased (the higher the dose, the less sedating it is. Very backwards) but I was still feeling hung over for a couple of weeks as my body adjusted to it.

I was on Remeron/Mirtazapine, I took it for 6 weeks. My doctor gave it to me because I have insomnia. My ex's sister was on it as well, it made her hallucinate every time she took it. Both of us were only on 15mg

On Remeron/Mirtazapine I was ALWAYS hungry I ended up gaining 15lbs. I was also tried and in a daze state as well. Those side effects never went away, for a lot of people I know they always felt like that on Remeron. I'd ask your doctor to switch medications.

Remeron is one of those medications where you get more side effects at lower doses. I had the same at 15mg, but when I went up to 30mg I felt a lot better. It still took some time to adjust, though.
