BH or Real contractions?!

posted 11th Jan
I got my membranes swept wed. & after that I felt cramps until I slept that night and I woke up fine not as much cramps. I am 3 1/2 cm & 80% as of wed. I walked on the treadmill for 1 hour a bit more & after that I been having contractions (if that's what i'm feeling) and gone to the rr with brown discharge. These "contractions" are 6,7,8 min apart so far. Is this labor or not. I'm scared not to know because I can bear pain pretty well and I would be the one to wait to go in LD until i'm dying!
So what may this be?

I'm in a similar boat. I was only a 2 though. I was having contractions just like that for 2 hours. Managed to fall asleep, now they are bad enough to wake me up and last longer. I just started timing them again.

sounds like early labor. It could last hours to weeks. when you are contracting every 3-5 min lasting 60 sec. for a few hours and they hurt then go in... or if you rupture. good luck it will be soonish

Oh we're due the same day!
The last two were stronger, I really hope I can hold it for today!

I want him out but at the same time I don't, and I can't pin point the reason!

Me too! I want them to keep going so he can be here, but I want them to stop because they hurt.

I'm kinda at a loss here. My first thought was not to tell you to wait that long b/c this is your second baby... Then I saw the whole rupture of fluids part and kinda concur now. Second time moms (or even more) tend to go fast. I don't think you should wait 2 hours but I also don't think you should go in unless you are in a lot of pain. If you're like me and have a high pain tolerance, perhaps going in when they start getting uncomfortable instead of painful is a better idea. Just think of it this way... Would you rather be at a hospital or in you livingroom? lol, it happened to a girl on here I saw just last week b/c she waited too long.

Ideally I would wanna go in at transition and my suggestions would likely put you only at the beginning of active labor. If I'm in the hospital before 8cm I'm pissed

Ive had contractions that get painful, but not unbearable, 3-5 mins apart. Im 3.5cms dilated and 80% effaced. I get these for a few hours and they go away, this has been happening for 3-4 weeks now and its so confusing!! I had my membranes stripped on Monday and lost my mucus plug the next day. Every woman is so different... my water didnt break with my first two so I cant really bet on that. Some women never have any contractions until its time so I dont know... I would say let them get 3-4 mins apart and stronger than when they started and go in! Better to be sent home then deliver in your bathroom
