Second trimester?

When does the 2nd trimester begin? I always thought it was 13 weeks, but some sources say 12 weeks since it's the beginning of week 13. What were you told?

I went by 14 weeks.

Really? I haven't heard of it starting that late. No one can agree on anything in the obstetric community. Some say 2nd tri is 12 weeks, some say 13, some 14. Some say full term is 37 weeks, some say 40. It's so confusing.

You are term at 37 weeks and full term at 40 weeks.

12 weeks doesn't make any sense to me. If you take every month at just 4 weeks, then 9 months of pregnancy would end at 36 wks so... lol

I don't get how full term is 37 wks either

It's not. It's 40.

Didnt Becky say 13w3d? idk. i remember like 5 pages in the dd group discussing when it actually ends lol.

Yea something like that. Lol. She counts weird though too. Like, she'd say I'm now 28 wks pregnant & just in my 29th week. Which makes sense. But I prefer saying I am now 29 weeks  

My doctor says 13 weeks is the start of the second trimester and 28 weeks is the beginning of the third trimester so I always go by that.
