Abdominal exercises please!
posted 11th Jan
I'm pregnant and I have an abdominal incisional hernia Doctor said I should try abdominal exercises to try and strengthen the weakened muscles there to prevent it from getting worse over the next 6 months since they can not repair it until after I have the baby
SO does any one have any suggestions for good abdominal exercises? Most the ones I am seeing on google require weight lifting smurf or weird devices (ab roller, ab lounger, etc)

Get your SO to hold your feet like in gym class and do full situps. Those are the best i can still do them and am two days from being 39 weeks along! You just have to adjust bc of your enormous belly lol. Also the bicycle is a great one but difficult. Lay on your back put right elbow to left knee, left elbow to right knee holding out the opposite leg not touching the floor. those should get you started..they are my fav. gooodluck

oh and for that second one put your hand behind your head and lift your knee to you elbow and your elbow to your knee. I am bad at explanations maybe you can find it on google or youtube i think it is typically called the "bicycle".

I think I still remember the bicycle, I will give it a go
Any other less extreme ones also wanted, just in case those are too much. She said if the hernia bulges, it's too much and I think that might do it but I haven't tried yet..my back is super screwed up and I can't lie flat on the floor because of it so I have to try and find some super super thick yoga mat or something to cushion my lower back.
