See, this is how it's been too. I mean, Mr. Smoke does take a lot from Kiki, but I'm usually there to remind her that he's an old man...be gentle...and he's ballsy enough to defend himself, but he's always used soft paws. I've heard him thump Kiki's head like a watermelon, and that was that. Never have I yelled at him for it because he was giving her a warning...but yea, these guys are friends and enemies,lol

I don't know what they would expect you to do. He's a cat. And an old cat. Animals will defend themselves, and it's not like he clawed her whole face up or something. If he attacked her like my sister's cat attacked her, requiring stitches, yeah, I could see them wanting you to do something, but come on.

See, but Mr. Smoke has put up with so much from her. He's very tolerant. He knows she's a baby and not to unleash his fury on her. Hell, whenever we let the chinchilla out, we tell him to leave him alone and he listens. He listens better than the kid and SO actually,lol. I just feel like MIL is getting too carried away. Mr. Smoke isn't going anywhere. He's family. Of course him, and I love LO...If it came down to it, I'd have to get rid of him if it meant LO was in danger..I just feel like this isn't that bad of a situation.

I mean, it looked bad before I got her cleaned up...like her face wasn't all that bad, but her ear was dripping blood pretty good. After cleaning it up I realized it wasn't deep enough for stitches. He just got her in a good spot I guess....I just know MIL is probably talking badly about him now...and how I'm not doing anything about it.

My sister's cat had a genetic defect and she walked in the door one day and he pounced on her face and clawed her all the way up her forearm and all over her face. The ones on her face you can't see as well but the one on her arm is BAD.

I knew you meant the cat.. and honestly ..it happens.. I understand you completely. Alice pokes and prods Lucifer all the time and gets scratched. Kids and cats... these things are bound to happen. I don't take sides either usually. Lucifer gets a swat and the kid gets removed and told no. Of course if she's upset I console her.

Your mil can chill in the box. The scratch will be gone in a week.

My cats give a warning swat if DD is being rough with them. One warning, no claws. If she continues after we tell her to be nice and the cats have had enough, it's her fault if she gets a scratch. She's learned over the years, so it's a very rare thing.

What do these people making you feel like smurf expect you to do? Put Mr. Smoke on a time-out? lol.
