Coming out?

Theres really no easy way of doing it. You just have to do it

My family. Parents, brother, cousins.

Don't force yourself to do it. Wait until you feel the time is right. I didn't tell my mom until our conversation fit the situation. I honestly probably wouldn't say anything until it was warranted. Straight people don't go up to their parents like, "Hey. I'm straight. Just wanted to let you guys know." LOL. I'd wait until you started dating someone, or becoming interested in them... and then introduce them to the family, and explain you are bisexual/lesbian.

Hmmm... you know, I don't think there is a "right" way to do it. It depends on the dynamic of your family. Are you all pretty close? Is it possible they already know deep down?

I know what you mean. I saw a quote a while ago talking about that. Straight people don't come out because it's expected for them to be straight. Sometimes I feel like i'm going to explode if I don't get it out and other times I'm really scared.

Really? I mean i haven''t been through it so i wouldn't know... but thinking if my daughter came out to me I hope she wouldn't be like... "Hey I need to tell you something, btw i am a lesbian and Im dating this girl"

Idk like i said im ignorant to it but it seems like it would be a tougher situation to accept

I've never had to come out as anything other than "pregnant teenager" before, though, which isn't the same at all... haha

If I were to do it, I think I'd just tell my mom and dad, and let the rest of my family just hear by word of mouth. If they can't accept it, oh well. I don't think it needs to be a big ordeal, you know? That'd be way too stressful.

My view point... if you aren't with someone, or dating, whatever... they can always just say it's a phase. That you aren't serious about it... you're just going through a hard time in life and it'll pass. Having someone standing next to you, holding your hand through it, makes it easier. It shows you are serious about what you are. At least IMO. Obviously, not everyone comes out like that. But I'd think that would be the easiest for more conservative parents to accept.

I just recently told my dad I am Bisexual. It was rather amusing to say the least. We were watching a NFL game when they showed the cheerleaders and at the same time we were both like 'hot damn!'...So thats what lead to the discussion... My mom on the other hand, refuses to except it.... just wait till the time is right for YOU to do it. Don't force it out. i've known since I was like 15 and here I am at 23 and just now did it.... My best friend just found out about 2 years ago.... We got drunk and she tried to kiss me so before she did I told her the truth....Everything is perfect tho :-)
