Irregular contractions- labor?

I've been having tons of contractions. No more than 10 minutes apart since about 5. They are uncomfortable, not really painful. They are getting more and more uncomfortable, like bad period cramps. They aren't forming a pattern though.

So far (since I've been in bed)-

Should I wait for a pattern? Or just bad pain? I was 2 cm and soft yesterday. Baby was fully engaged.

irregular is BH usually. I have 4 usually everynight. 2 cm can stay like that for awhile, tho the baby being engaged does help to get ready for labor. How long have you been laying down?

My contraction were anything but regular ...most pols are but I would say if you're having a lot of pain or more then 5in an hour I believe it is I would go in to be safe

Since just before they started. And I know it can, but the doctor seemed encouraged I'd go this weekend. And they just haven't stopped in hours.

If it were me I'd go to l&d if they are painful. They are 5-10 minutes apart. Maybe wait till some are 3 minutes apart

I just want to make sure I get there in time for an epidural. I live about an hour away from the hospital and the roads are ice. Next one was 11:44.

I was told with my first that contractions felt like bad period cramps. Nope those are just BH. Contractions are a million times worse. Lol you will know when it's happenin!

I never ha painful contractions with my daughter and I was dilating and effacing. So I'm not sure I will. I've been drinking tons of water and peeing to make sure I'm hydrated and that a full bladder isn't the cause.

my ob says no more then 6 strong contractions in an hour without at least calling l&d. Do they hurt a lot or just more annoying then anything?

So you were never in pain with labor? You must be some kind of super human. I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!! I puked from the pain and almost fainted

im curious if the pain wasnt that bad with your first why get the epi?

That was preterm labor. I was 26 weeks. I wasinduced at 39+5 because of other issues, and had an epidural before any contractions, so that's why I don't know what's going on now, lol.

I just want to make sure I have the option.

Yeahhhhhh. That's why you didn't feel the pain! Sooo lucky! I'm on #2 and so not excited. It will be pain that you can barely even walk once you get into active labor

They're enough to keep me awake, and kind of take my breath away.
