178 is high for me. My doc wants me to keep it between 80-140. Usually its in the 120s. Im drinking fluids and waiting for another round of Tylenol to kick in for my throat and ear pain.

Did your docs give you a list of meds for basic cold meds you can take over the counter? I got a paper with my first visit and it has more then just tylenol..well pain wise thats the only thing but also like losengers or sprays that kind of thing. My specialist gets pressy if its above 120 to many times a week. I take 2.5mg glyburide at night tho.

I didnt get a list, but I called L&D when I was in second trimester and they said Robitussin for a cold. Not sure if its the same for last trimester though. I was put on insulin this pregnancy. 30 units morning, 23 at night. and 850mg Metformin 2x daily. With my reads being no higher than 140 one hour after a meal.

Colds/Congestion: Claratin, *Sudafed, Tylenol, Actifed, Zyrtec, Tylenol Cold, Tylenol Sinus, Ocean Nasal, Musinex.

Sore Throat: Sucret, Choraseptic Spray, Choraseptic Lozenges, Warm salt water gargle.

Cough: Triaminic Dimetapp, Robitussin, Benylin, Halls Cough Drops.

*may cause decrease milk supply if breast feeding.

The paper has more catagories but this seemed like the basic ones you need. Its safe for durring pregnancy and while breast feeding. Tylenol Pm is also safe if you can't sleep, *benedryl will aslo help you sleep. I hope this helps.

Does the Tylenol Cold include the liquid Multi-Symtom Nighttime one? I have that on hand but wasnt sure if I could take it. SO said he'll do a run to the store if I need something though. He's such a sweet heart and its snowing pretty bad here.

unfortunately I can't answer that I just stick to the list. We had benadril sinus on hand and I called the ob to ask if it was okay to take and he said no that it has something different then regular bendaril and regular tylenol. I stick to the list but you can always call out to your hospital and ask..they should be able to tell you if its safe..

Wow and I thought my office was strict. They don't do any pain meds but tylenol some places do different kinds but have to be percribed. I know its hard to believe someone on here, so if waiting till tomorrow is what needs to be done then I understand. I hope you do start to feel better tho. I wish all doc would do what mine did with a list. Not so you can take meds all the time but in a needed case. Im sure they have there reasons for not doing it tho.

At least now I can go into the doc with a list and see what he says. As for now, I am drinking some hot green tea to sooth my throat. And getting off the computer to relax with SO before bed. Have a great night and thanks for your help!

Thought I would give an update. My doc is prescribing me a cough/decongestant with codeine. And told me that at this point NyQuil is OK to use. I'm so happy! I might be able to kick this bug and get some sleep too!
