so stressed... this is outrageous.

Little back story.... my son has adhd, he is not on medication and his teacher referred him to a summer program with a behavioral health center, I was told there were grants he qualified for so we wouldn't have to pay much if any. I just got a bill in the mail for nearly $9,000 for a 6 week program 4 days a week. That's almost $400 per day.
I tried to call the lady in billing I spoke with months ago who told me it would be taken care of, and of course she had left for the day.... I'm so upset, there is no way I can pay it. We don't have that kind of money.
I am just so upset.... not to mention my husband had a feeling this would happen and I wanted to believe otherwise..... idk what to do.

I would try calling again. Sometimes bills are sent out by accident because they haven't went to the right person. Do some research and see if you can find out what grants he may apply for..call social security office and see if they will help considering that it is a medical situation and it would benafit him. I was on a special insurance with my first and I had GD they told me that the ultrasounds and NST would be paid for, one day I got a bill in the mail and almost had a heart attack. It took me 4 days to get ahold of the lady I was working with, because she was on a small vacation. She asked me to drop the paper off at her office and she took care of it..I didn't hear anything else about it. It can work out.

I've received grants for school, they've been dealt with in a couple of different ways.

For one, I had to pay the bill and I was reimbursed.

For another, they had to bill me and I had to submit the bill to the granting agency.

I would keep calling.

I hope that is what happens for us..... I'm a mess cause if they don't cover it, there is no way I can pay it.... and I fear the worst so I'm not devastated if it doesn't work in my favor....

worst case is that the grant doesn't work for some reason or another right, Im sure there are a ton of different programs that can help with special needs. I know of about 3 ways here where I live and its actually a small town..my daughter has autism. During the summer she doesn't go to camp but she does spend an hour a day at the hospital doing developement therapy and then another day does an hour of speech..it isn't nearly as high. Just something you can look into IF it comes down to it. Wait and see first and go from there.
