sunscreen

posted 5th Jun
okay my baby is going to be 9 weeks old when we go to the beach. i do not plan on getting her skin in the sun AT ALL. we have a huge tent that all of the guys sit under on the beach and im going to put her under it ina bouncer with fans on her. But she will be in the sun walking down to the beach..which will probably take about 5 minutes from our condo. Do you ladies suggest putting sunscreen on her anyways just to be sure? And if so, what kind? Thank you!

You should put sunscreen on her regardless of whether she's in the shade or in the sun. I put it on Emma every time we go out, even if it's just down the street. Their skin is so sensitive that you just never know.

yeah you probably should, the uv rays can bounce off the sand and water. they don't come strictly from the sky...

Pedi's say no sunscreen on babies under 6 months, so I would call her doctor first!

UV rays can get you even on cloudy days when the sun is hiding.. so defintely use some sunscreen!!! they make all sorts of baby sunscreen. try using anything that SPF 50 or higher!

I use to swear by water babies, but then my litle one was getting burned this year while having it on, so I switched, and I bought the Hawaiin (sp?) tropic i think it is baby faces and tender places or something like that, but it is their version of sunblock for babies, and it is spf 60. we used it last weekdn and we were on the boat all day long and not a red speck on the kids. I used it on myself with only one application and no burn here (well at least not on the places I applied it, I looked like a lobster, but only where I forgot to apply it) I will be using that stuff from now on!!
