Does God care about theology?

It is sometimes believed that God has a preference on what religion should be followed. Could it be God is not interested in religion and that the concept of God being for one religion and against others is a manmade idea? I was raiseed to believe that Catholicism was the only way but now I believe there is no one way to believe and that beliefs don't matter. What do you believe?

I don't think God prefers one Christian religion over another. Why would he? I think he cares more about character and your love for him than how you choose to practice religion. We all have the same goals. We just choose to practice and learn Ina different way. Nothing wrong with that.

I believe God is mainly interested in the spiritual growth of all souls which in many cases will not involve religion but rather experience and reaping the results of free will good or bad

What do I believe? Not god.

I'm with you. But in the event there is a god, I don't think he cares what religion you are. Isn't he all about acceptance, love and forgiveness?

religion is a tainted way of Obedience... I obey Gods commandments simply because he wants the best for us... and because I love and care so much for him I try to show him in my actions. As our father he put the rules there for our own benefit... and after living life my own way, and living it Gods way, I have learned exactly why obedience is important. but obedience comes from love and comes from trust/faith. Think of it, you have rules for your kids because you know it will hurt them/ you know whats best for them. Same with Christ. Religion is Obedience without love, without acccepting jesus as your savior... its putting the rules above the relationship.
