Chemical burns??

posted 10th Jan
I was scrubbing, by hand with powder laundry detergent (dumb, I know.) An I managed to get a small chemical burn across my knuckles, I've flushed the area with cool water and dried my hands really well. But does anyone know if there is something else I can use for the burning?

Nope, I don't think I've ever heard of that. Is it something you can buy at a drug store?

DD had a major accident and we were out of liquid detergent, so I was trying to pre-scrub before putting it in the wash. Since I have never gotten a chemical burn from the liquid, it didn't cross my mind until my hands started burning.

Im confused, a chemical burn from laundry detergent???

I hand scrub mine all the time, to pre wash stains out. Never have I ever experienced this. Although I did burn my hand with Grill Acid, the stuff you use to clean fast food grills. I just bandaged it up and used salve on it.

Sorry silver sulfadiazine. It's a burn cream. Ive burnt myself a lot haha so I've always had it around. But it may be a Perscription only. I'm not sure. I've always had a Perscription because I burnt myself when I worked at McDonald's in the fry vat and on a pizza oven when I worked at a pizza place.

It was powder detergent, and I have really sensitive skin. I normally use a liquid detergent but we were all out, so I didn't even think about the powder burning my skin, since the liquid doesn't.

I have just never heard of powder degerent burning the skin before. I also have sensitive skin and have never had this happen before.

I guess it depends on the brand maybe. lol

I've never heard of that either, lol. But I looked it up and it looks to be something that would have to be prescribed by a doctor.
