I had an abonormal pap 2 months after I had my mirena removed. Had a colpo done, and it came back ok, but I still have to go back in 6 mos for a follow up. They never said anything about it possibly relating to my mirena

They think it's the mirena because the abnormal area isn't my cervix like most abnormal ones would be. It's inside my uterus/birth canal where the mirena is.

Atypical glandular cells can lead to adenocarcinoma, the more rare and aggressive form of cancer. If she doesn't recommend another pap in three months get a second opinion. I don't mean to scare you but that kind of thing needs to be watched very closely. I would also ask about having an endocervical curettage.

She said I need to come back in April (3 months) for another pap. Pending the ultrasound results tomorrow and the tests she took today. She told me she seriously would not worry about this and she thinks it's completely due to mirena.

It is nothing to worry about as long as they keep an eye on it. Even if it wasn't due to Mirena it would be more likely to clear up on its own than turn into cancer. You just want to be able to catch it early just in case. It sounds like your OB/GYN is on top of it. Good luck and I hope you're able to get all this Mirena stuff resolved!
