brush your 13 month old's teeth? She fights me to no end when I try... and I worry they arn't getting clean enough. Also she hates having water dumped on her any tips or tricks to get the soap out of her hair at bath time?

For brushing I set them on my lap facing away from me and squish their cheeks together and just go at it.. lol. Now they love brushing their own teeth.

bath time... my kid acts like I'm drowning her... So I chopped her hair short. Makes it a quick dunk back into the tub less traumatic.. lol

We have a fun book for teeth brushing.. But my son was naturally interested in brushing his teeth so he didn't really fight me just try to make up some fun story about why she should have clean teeth and that the tooth fairy or something would be happy if she had her teeth brushed. Does she watch you brush your teeth? Brush your teeth with her?

My son hated getting his hair washed too I just gave him a wash cloth to hold over his face and then dumped the water out.. if you can get her to hold her head back that would help too.

I always let Ainsley do it first, and then I went over them after. We dance while we brush our teeth to make it last longer.
We had one of those visor buckets so water didn't get in her eyes.

DS HATED having his teeth brushed no matter what we did for a long time and I had to sit on top of him and hold his arms down between my legs, hold his head down with one hand and then go at it with the other. I just had to try to get it done as quickly as possible. He started cutting teeth at 4 months, though. It was a struggle until he hit about 18 months. Now if I make funny noises and praise him while I do it he doesn't mind so much. I asked his doctor if there was anything better I could do because Iw as afraid I was gonna traumatize him holding him down like that but he said it was fine to do it that way. I tried the teeth brushing book, letting him do it, letting him watch me brush mine, being funny with it, nothing worked until he was a little older.

This is what I've been doing. lol. Just squishing her cheeks and going to town fast, I let her do it first, but you would think something was terribly wrong if you saw us fighting each other to brush her teeth. She still doesn't have much hair nothing really to cut off, she acts like i'm drowning her as well. She stands up real quick and just starts screaming.... her least favorite part of bathtime... she loves everything else about it. lol

I'm worried about having to do this with DD we haven't tried books, but we watched yo gabba gabba teeth episode and she watches me and DH do it....and STILL hates it. I even let her pick her tooth brush and tooth paste. She has Thomas the train flouride free toothpaste and a bright pink and yellow toothbrush lol.

I know it sounds awful, but I only put in enough water to cover her butt crack. And when I go to wash the shampoo out I lay her back and put one arm across her chest and use my other hand to swish the water around to get the soap out of her hair. She screams, and fights me. If I didn't.. uh... pin her down, she tries to roll over and swallows water. Pouring water over her head is even worse, because she will try and grab at the curtains and pull herself out.
I get my oldest to 'look to the sky' when I pour water into her hair, and she counts how many times I pour water. I cannot wait until the youngest is cooperative.

The only issues we have now at 20 months is if he's really tired he fights it and if Daddy does it he fights it lol. He only likes for me to brush them because he likes to suck water off the brush when we're done so I pretend like I'm running it under the faucet and make a swishy noise every few seconds and he thinks it's funny. I also let him brush them himself before and after and I don't think DH does anything fun because he wants to get it over with lol. It takes forever to brush his teeth because he has a full mouth of teeth (17 currently, the last 3 are almost through) and has had 16 since he was a year old. I miss the days when I was only having to brush 4 teeth haha.

Toddlers are hard, lol. I may have to try this, it sounds quicker than cups of water... She still loves baths, so I haven't traumatized her, lol. If you ask her if she wants a bath she starts to take off her clothes/diaper and heads toward the stairs...

Lol, DD only has four currently two on top two on bottom and no signs of getting any more any time soon... so it doesn't take too long to get them brushed!

So do we!! I get the towel ready before I attempt to wash the soap out, then wash it out and pull her from the tub... Love her so much, just wish I could make brushing her teeth and washing her hair just a tad bit easier!

Oh my goodness! Bath time, is just HORRIBLE at our house for my son. He loves every part of it, except washing the soap out. He SCREAMS LOUD. Ive tried taking him in the shower with me, THAT was worse, soooo worse lol but what we do, weve kinda just accepted it, and we just hurry up and pour water over his head ( he has really short hair so its only usually one half cup full or so) then hurry up and dry his face off. We have just gotten over it and are just waiting for him to get better as his own time. That hat thing, that is like a visor, i dont think he would put that on his head at all, he is VERY picky lol. He will be three this month.
