Ortho Evra

I'm thinking about getting Ortho Evra (the patch) I have had the depo shot previously but I'm concerened about bone loss and loss of fertility so I'm thinking about getting the patch. Any ladies on this? What are your experiences with it?

Love it! I'm breastfeeding so I have to wait but I was on it as a teen and liked better than anything else

I'm not breastfeeding so really any option is available to me. 'm just worried about how long it would take me to have another baby once I decide that I'm ready for one.

i used it for a few years it worked great cleared my face up no weight gain was perfect

Is it bascially the same side effects as the pill I like being on the pill I just hate taking it every day.

I was on the patch for about 2- 2 1/2years. I liked it alot. The last 3-4 months, the patch didnt stick as well.... not sure why? I always switched the location, so it wasnt like it irritated the same spot or anything. It was becomming exspensive also ($60/month) because my insurance didnt cover it. And i became super bitchy the last couple months, i blamed it on the BC.... but not real sure if it was to blame or not. I'd love to try it again- but I am over the weight limit... so i cant. I switched to the pill, 5 months later, missed a few & ended up pregnant. Never heard of it effecting fertility....

same side effect just easier because you stick it on and go and you dont have to worry every day but its like a bandaid you get that mark around it sounds wierd but nail polish remover just a little will take it right off otherwise its hard to get off lol

I guess I never read anywhere where there was a weight limit? What is the weight limit.

I'm having a BC crisis. I was doing the Depo shot but the more I learned about it the more it scared me. I have narrowed it down to the patch, the implanon, or Mirena. Honestly, Mirena is my last choice.

The last i read, if you smoke- if your over 35 and if your over 195lbs you shouldn't use it. Let me see if i can find that..

I'm still losing the pregnancy weight so I'm only 200 do you think five pounds will make a difference.

Im not sure? Ask your doc- see what they say.... Im 206, and wouldnt use it unless i was more then a few lbs under 198.... just to be cautious.

It's not like I'm even in a relationship or having sex on daily basis so maybe BC is unnecessary I'm not sure all I know is I can't afford another baby right now.

You could get pregnant just a few days after removing it and not putting a new one on
