I can understand why it's frustrating but at the same time you can't "steal" a name. There are more than likely 100k people min with that same name. And it disturbed me when you said that her child should be yours.

Your time will come keep your head up. Think positive. Bashing her as a parent isn't going to help anything and it's kinda mean.

You can and should still use the name. I understand why you're upset, but there's nothing you can really do. I'm sorry and I wish you luck and baby dust.

I second that I really wanna know the name.
And you might sound jealous but if someone who was close to me used a name I told them I had 100% decided on I would be really smurfing upset too.

My sister had chosen a name for her daughter when she was pregnant and told her brother in law and sister in law ( who was also pregnant and due a couple months earlier). Well her BIL & SIL used the name. My sister still kept the name. So my niece Samantha has a cousin named Samantha too.

Twice I have thought a name was lovely, told a friend and darn if they didn't name their kids that. Look at it this way, you have fabulous taste. I'm keeping my mouth shut about this future kids name until its born, just so no one around me uses it too   Good luck on TTC!

I would've been pretty pissed too. I wish you luck TTC and if I were you, I'd still use the name. If the name is that important to you, you shouldn't let someone like her taint it for you.

You are bashing her and if she did go around telling people that you stole the name... so what? You know the truth. And if she's such a horrible parent and person why is she your "best friend"? It was something good about her for her to earn that title initially. What she did was smurfed up... but I wouldn't let that take such a toll on me. You should still name your daughter Sophia... it's a really cute name. The whole post just sounded so jealous and hateful. Take a minute to calm down and realize one day it will be your turn and you can make it what you want. Something beautiful... or something tainted?

And one more thing... if you have it together as a great mom and she's truly struggling why not take some time to help her? She obviously admires you.

Let her do, say, and feel how she wants to. She doesn't control your life, and will any of this matter 20, 30, 40 years from now? Probably not. So screw her.

You do sound a bit jealous... and Sophia is THE most popular name in the country right now, so I'm not surprised she all the sudden thought it was cool.

Go ahead and name your baby that anyway if you really like it! There will be 5 other Sophia's in her class anyways so why not lol

I get how you feel. After my miscarriage, I was jealous of pregnant women for awhile.

I think you should really reconsider your friendship with this girl. She doesn't sound supportive at all. You don't have to cut her off completely, maybe just put some distance between yourselves.
