re: Miscarried twins, having a rough time

So I'm definitely going to ask for another sonogram after reading these responses. I wasn't even aware they would schedule a D&C without double checking, triple checking something like this if there was still even a tiny chance?
And what about those pains? I've been hearing most mom's say they had cramping, it's normal when the abdomen is stretching and others say it's a red flag?

Maybe it's just a cyst causing the pain. You said in your previous post that you've had issues with cysts before.

Also, why wouldn't they let some of y'all have a picture from the sonogram? How could they deny that to anyone? it could help your grieving process if that's your personal preference... I understand if some women would prefer not to see the picture, but shouldn't it be an option? I'm sorry to the moms who wanted a picture but couldn't have one. :[
My nurse was very sweet about everything and only said she would show me if I wanted and printed out a clear picture of the two little beans as soon as I asked.

The doctor did take a lot of extra time taking pictures of the uterus around the embryos and ovaries which is good.
I'm terrified of the possibility of the cysts being the cause of these problems. She did say that pregnancy is usually good hormones to help ease the endometriosis, I never knew.

Just wait a couple weeks and then go for another sonogram. At least you will know by that time if you actually are having a miscarriage or not. Good luck!

I think they would have given me one if i asked for it. There was a living baby in there too, so it was a little more complicated. I didn't fully understand what I was looking at. There was also a ton of other stuff going on at the time. I was dilating early (cervix issues unrelated to vanishing twin). I had placenta previa.. etc..etc. It wasn't until they had to send away my placenta for testing after delivery and discussed a cyst in the placenta (caused by the second baby being absorbed by the placenta) that I was even 100% sure of what was going on.

In hindsight, i remembered them measuring an extra sac of fluid and 'stuff' inside of it. When I talked to my hubby about it, he was like .. yeah .. no kidding. lol So i'm thinking maybe I wasn't as much distracted as I was having a bit of tunnel vision. Focus on what we can save instead of what we couldn't .. you know?

The ER told me their machines couldn't print out the pictures, but they brought me over to the computer to see it because they still had it in there. I actually miscarried a week after the ultrasound. I went to the ER for bleeding but they said it was too early to see a heartbeat, and went back a week later when I was really losing a TON of blood. The first time they did an ultrasound but the second time it was obvious so they didnt do one. I still wonder if they have the picture though because if they had it a week later why wouldnt they have it a year later? I still want one.
Anyway I asked if I could take a picture of it off the computer with my cell phone and they said no and made some excuse about how other patients personal information was around and they shouldnt even be letting me look

It might be worth asking about. I'm not really sure if they do store the U/S pics or not, but it would make sense if they did. I would assume it's part of your medical records.
