pets

My husband and I are wanting a dog. I know most people think pit bulls are horrible mean dogs, but if they are raised right, they are the sweetest, most loyal and protective dogs you can find (besides golden retrievers) what kind of animal do you think makes the best pet?

i personally like little fat dogs (pugs, englishbulldogs...)

i agree that pitbulls are great family dogs as long as they are raised well. when i own a house with a yard for a big dog to run around in i plan on getting one.

it all depends on how the dog is raised, but I prefer medium/large dogs because they are normally easier to train and housebreak

I've got a rottie, so I have to say that they're pretty awesome!

I've heard that Leonbergers are fantastic breeds of dog, very protective, very big, and very family friendly. That'll be my next dog, when Abby gets a little bit older.

We have a female cat and a male betta fish right now. We're getting a female kitten next month. We want a small dog but aren't allowed to have them in our apartment. But any animal that is treated properly and trained is a good pet.

Males cats spray if they're not fixed. I prefer my things to not smell like cat pee since I'm allergic to it. My boyfriend cleans the litter box because I'm allergic to cat urine.

Pits make great family pets as long as they aren't abused and treated like smurf.... but any dog would be mean if it was treated like smurf.

I've had pit mixes, a german shepherd, golden retreivers, yellow lab...

the golden retriever was annoying as smurf...
the yellow lab is a monster, it's my mom's and I don't trust it at all. The thing is a moron AND he's snapped at my son before.. and he tries to fight the other dogs....

German shepherd was THE BEST dog I ever had... the pit too.

I have a chihuahua now, he's a sweetheart, but if I could do it over again I wouldn't get a small dog with a small kid... the dog is afraid of the kid, because LO doesn't get that the dog is small. I correct him, but still... just not a good idea.
