low blood pressure

a friend of mine is 38 weeks pregnant and she keeps passing out. her doctor said it was because she has low blood pressure and all the blood is going to her uterus and not her brain. they also want to induce her in a few days because it looks like the baby isnt growing anymore. what could be causing that?

I have low blood pressure this pregnancy, and my doctor told me to drink a 12 oz cup of coffee whenever I started feeling like my BP was down. So far it has worked for me, but I'm watching this topic just in case. I hope your friend and her LO are ok!

I have low BP and I ws told to drink 7 bottles of water a day to help with the dizzy/black out/pass out stuff...Water helps a lot with anything really. And she also needs to start watching how fast she gets up...the faster she gets up the more blood leaves the brain. So if she gets up slower its a lot better.

she had an ultrasound to check blood flow and then had a fallow up ultrasound and the doctor said the baby stopped growing. is that even a legit reason to induce? that doesnt seem like enough reason after only ultrasonds

I am unsure since this is my 1st pregnancy but they could be worried since she isnt growing anymore she isnt getting enough food and stuff. But like I said I am unsure.

Honestly I dont know. I didnt have this problem with my first, and I am only 29 weeks now, so I havent gotten that far yet. Did he say the baby quit growing because of her low BP? Because my doctor has never mentioned that possibility to me...

That makes sense to me, but like I said I dont know for sure. I am definately going to ask my doc about it, but my appointment isnt untill Wednesday.
