You wouldn't go to your doctor for an extensive eye exam or a tooth cleaning? So why would you see him about your child's digestive tract. Same thing.
They are welcome to have opinions but they are not trained extensively in any of these areas.
I don't understand how any parent can do what "they feel is right" just because their family or friends or whatever does it. It does not make it right. They used to give newborns straight up cows milk over formula and guess what! Those babies thrived to but at what cost?
Oh and they also give new borns sugar water in some african tribes instead of milk for the first week. Must be a GREAT idea. Some of those babies live through that too.
C'mon. There is a reason humans do research and there is a reason we have come as far as we have. No parents/person should stop trying to educate themselves especially when it comes to their child. Through the internet we have so much information and knowledge at our fingertips(through credible sites). Of course I use it for just about every decision I make with my son because I want to give him the best start possible and I fully believe that every other parent should be educating themselves to... Ignorance breeds ignorance.

The fact of the matter is there are studies that PROVE children are more susceptible to digestive issues if introduced solids to young especially if forced upon through a bottle! I was one of those people who ended up with issues. You may not have been but your RISK was increased.

Not everyone who eats a smurf ton sugar is going to become a diabetic but it sure as hell increases the risk. Same thing.

I didn't know becoming a mother automatically gives you all up to date knowledge on all medical concerns.

I'm glad my aunt's doctor isn't that idiot. My cousin has cancer and my aunt definitely doesn't know how to cure that.

I just find it extremely sad you're so proud of your ignorance.

You do not KNOW your child will be fine. No one does. You could wake up tomorrow and she could have some rare form of cancer. The fact is you're putting her at a greater risk of all the things we already listed. She may or may not develop them but she very well could. You cant say for a fact that she wont.

Im sorry your cousin has cancer. I wasn't saying that every person know what to do. But if i have an issue I do call my doctor and I take the advice I receive.
