Waxing your toddler so they don't get bullied.
posted 10th Jan
I'm really sorry if this has already been posted
But i don't keep up with anything teen mom.
I'm "watching" The Talk (i'm too lazy to change the channel)
And they're talking about Farrah waxing her 3 year old's unibrow
The reason being to protect her from bullying...
And the women (sharon o, julie chen, other random actresses/famous people) are bashing her as a person saying "3 yr olds don't bully" "painful to do to a toddler" "sending her the wrong msg"
And i agree
But, they can't figure out what her thought process is on it
And all i can think is maybe..(and this isn't excusing it) but if she's got photos of her being taken, put in magazines, etc
She doesn't want her daughter looking back at a unibrow all over everywhere?
Ha, i really don't know.
But have you heard this?
Thoughts?
I know it's not the only case of waxing kids that's been talked about.

idk... look how much smurf Madonna and Lourdes get over her wicked brows....
Ev's got a unibrown but it's really light in the middle so you can't tell unless you're close up... neither of us care and I don't think another child has ever commented on it.

I don't think the whole "looking back" thing would be a very good reason. Lots of people look back on old photos of themselves and find them laughable.
I mean, had she waited until her daughter was in school maybe, and if SHE asked to have it done, then I'd do it. Otherwise it seems a bit silly and excessive.
This is actually the first I'm hearing of this, though!

With how famous her kid is, I can kind of understand what she was thinking. Think about how many teens would say what an ugly kid she has with that damn unibrow. It probably really makes her feel bad, because honestly if someone says something about my kid's appearance I don't normally hear/see it or have to deal with it. When your kid is all over the internet though it might be kinda in your face.
Also, she could be bullied in the future because her baby pics are everywhere. "Look at Sofia (I think that's her name?) when she was a baby! What an ugly little kid!" etc.
But no, I don't agree with it, and she could've handled it other ways.

I don't think it's okay, but I don't think it's as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. I do think that since her daughter probably didn't understand why she got her brows waxed, it was kind of mean, though...like giving her a spank without her having done anything wrong.

If one of my kids came to me and asked to be waxed at a young age due to bullying issues, i would. However, i wouldn't take it upon myself to due so.

This...... and now on top of it, it's going to grow back ten times darker/hairier. I can't even wrap my mind around that dumb smurf's thought process, honestly.

Oh i know, haha my child hood photos....
my thought was maybe just because unlike "us"
her photos are stuck in magazines 'n such.
I dunno, haha i don't think it's a "good" reason either

I don't agree. I think it is more just for herself than for the kids sake. My daughter has some bushy eyebrows but I don't notice unless she is right in my face and I just figure all the other little girls in her class will have things like this too and they probably won't even notice. I don't teach my kids to discriminate someone due to something minor like that. My kids don't even notice skin colour right now. So how would they notice eyebrows unless I teach them to be that way.
the day my daughter comes to me and is upset about it I will tell her the options she has.

I think it is BS excuse she used to pluck her kid's eyebrows. Plain and simple she didn't like it. I watched the damn show and never cared enough to look and nit pick at toddler's unibrow. I honestly never noticed. It all reality Farrah cares a whole smurfing lot more about it than most people in the world.

I wouldn't do it... but look at mums who put make-up on their toddlers & do all sorts of cray cray smurf for "beauty." Not that different, IMO.

....I agree yea being in the spot light makes it diffrent than what we normal moms would do...but I would still wait till that child is old enough to make the decision or consider a less painful option but then again I dont even wanna wax anyting on myself that cant be done some other way

Oh yeah, as a kid, i swear my face was like 80% eyebrows
i'd be really weirded out though if i found out my mom waxed 'em..
unless i grew up and somehow was 'thankful' looking back at no more unibrows? i dont know.
They're actually talking about Madonna right now and how she didn't do anything to her daughter's brows.

Actually, waxing over time makes the hair grow in thinner.
