If your 13 year old daughter punched you in the face hard enough to give you a black eye, what would you do?

Call the cops. Depending on what kind of other issues she was having. If she was a normal little 13 year old I'd ground her. If she was headed in the wrong direction I'd call th cops

My first instinct would be to hit her back. BUT, teaching someone not to be violent by USING VIOLENCE makes no sense. Obviously if she hits you, she's not scared of you, which is all hitting kids does, instills fear so they listen.

Depending on the rest of her behavior, I'd probably call the cops to scare her.
If she's not that down hill, her life would be over, for probably a really long time, like months.
All electronics gone, the only thing her eyes will see is school and her homework and food. Lol, everything else is a privilege.

My first though when hearing this question was "I would smack the smurf outta her" but after thinking about it for more than a second, I feel like thats pretty hypocritical, especially since I dont even spank my kids ya know? So I was trying to figure out what the best way to handle the situation is, and honestly I couldnt come up with anything. So of course I came to BG to get answers

Oh and just for the record everyone, this hasnt happened to anyone I know, I am watching Maury while my DS is taking his nap, and it is about out of control teens.

I would tell my child that if they didnt want to respect me or my rules, then they can call the CAS or the police and go to a foster or group home for viloent kids.
I wouldnt put up with my own child hitting me, and even more so if I had younger kids in the home to be influenced by it.

I would feel terrible saying and doing it, but I wont tollerate that kind of behavior. And if it was due to an ongoing issue like drugs and booze etc....for the behavior I would ship them off to rehap and anger managment.

But it all depends on how what and why it happened in the first place.
