I just got it today. Do you love it? hate it? ive heard "horror" stories, but i decided to give it a chance anyway lol.

its just so common to get a uterine infection with those things and to be permanently sterile.

I just live in fear that ill get pregnant with it... I should of went with a tubal.

I'm thinking of getting one after I have my daughter.

I loved it while I had it and AF even went away but now that it is out I am kicking myself for ever getting it.... I am now having all sorts of issues with my girly parts that I never had before and we are having problems TTC... I would not get it again!!!

I have days where I'm annoyed by it. But I'm starting to like it.

I got mine placed March 2009. I had horrible mood swings and crazy periods the whole time I had it. Then in January of 2011 I started getting horrible abdominal pain. I finally had enough and went to the ER. They did an ultrasound and discoverd it had migrated down into my cervix. They wouldn't take it out at the hospital. They told me to go to an ob and get them to remove it. Finally got an appointment to remove it. I felt much better. A month or so later I got pregnant and then after my bfp a week later I had and then six months to conceive again. Bad experience but not everyone is the same.

Had it for 2 years. No period the whole time. Gained about 20 lbs. Got super bitchy every other month. Sex drive crashed.
Had it taken out last April. Got pregnant right away, lost the baby. Had 2 cycles, got pregnant again, and lost that baby too.
I've since lost 40 lbs, and my sex drive is back, but DH isn't here.

Love mine!!! Had one put it in after my daughter after 2 years had it removed, we got pregnant about 6 months later. My son was born in oct 2011 and I again got one at my 6 month pp apt. I LOVE IT

Ive had such problems with other birth controls, i felt like i had no choice. Im definitely going to make sure it stays in the right place though. Im nervous about that.. The doctor said to give it 4 months, and if i dont like it, they just pull it out. I get very heavy periods and cysts constantly.. Im hoping this slows it down. I just feel weird having a foreign object chilling out in my uterus haha.

I got my put in December 2010, LOVE IT!! No periods since 6 months after placement.. I was Kinda bitchy and had major mood swings before Mirena so I cant blame it on that... and Sex drive wasnt affected.... DH cant seem to keep up... lol... I think its the same as any other Birth Control... it effects everyone differently.. .works for some and not for others.... something you have to try and see how it goes... lol

I hated it. It made me a raging lunatic and I always bled. My doctor took it out after a few months. I felt more like myself within 3 or 4 days. I have friends that love it though.

So far I like it.. I got in put in a couple months ago.

I've had it for almost 4 years now, and so far I have not had a period, which is effing wonderful. I've had a tiny bit of spotting once in a blue moon, and a little cramp here or there from certain sex positions (I have a tilted uterus already, so the mirena can get irritated from certain positions), I shed like a damn dog and it's a pain in the ass. But all in all, I'm happy with it. I could do without the "shedding" and cramping sometimes, but hey, no period is fantastic lol.

BUT I wouldn't recommend using it without any other BC. We still use spermicide, condoms and pulling out to prevent pregnancy. Not taking ANY risks here lol.
