I understood the general idea of labor but even that understanding didn't even partially prepare me lol after 7 & 1/2 hours of hard active labor, puking my guts out & having contractions less than 2 minutes apart I finally caved after trying to go natural & got the epidural while in the fetal position crying

I went over my due date, had a sweep at 41 weeks 1 day (first baby) went to be induced at 41 weeks 4 days and had him at 42 weeks, I went in on the friday and labour didn't kick in properly until Sunday night, and then he turned and got stuck and I ended up with an emergency section, I wanted to be active in labour but couldn't because I was hooked up to monitors and not able to stand.

If you have no medical reason to have it DON'T have it, I felt robbed of the birth I wanted and felt extremely traumatised by the whole situation!

I have been induced every time for my pregnancy's and they have gone well so far...no real complications except I'm extremely anemic even on iron pills and I crash after birth...I hope this one will go natural..I'm holding out as long as I can...  Good luck if you do decide, but I hated not being able to have the real experience of going into labor on my own...

It says that you have one child. So you've had one induction and are hoping to go natural this time?

I see.
Was your first a surrogacy agreement or an adoption, like not your biological child? You said it was both but i thought they were two different things. I'm just curious.

My first labor was hell on earth. Being stuck at 9 1/2 cm for HOURS, pushing for HOURS, while everyone sat around and looked at me. -_-....

My second was a BREEZE! Pushed once and he was out haha.

It was an adoption/surrogacy...sorry kinda complicated..I had a child at a young age as being a victim of a wrongful act and at that time I was not able to care for the child and my family had a close family that couldn't have children and well since I couldn't care for mine at the time I felt it would be best to give him to a family that could give him all he needed and deserved...so in a way it worked out beautifully. It was a closed adoption when all was said and done, but it was my biological child, I just gave him up...  Sorry if I'm confusing...

Oh ok I see now. It was an adoption, and you did something wondrful for someone. That's really amazing, i know I'm strong enough to be able to do that.
I was thinking abor becoming a surrogate for a family after this pregnancy sonif had some questions but your's wasn't a true surrogacy situation like I would be dealing with. It wouldn't be my biological child it would be an implanted embryo of another couple and i would be under contract. Kwim?

Ah yes, I think honestly it would feel the same...I mean obviously you would go about it a little differently...but I had already signed for the adoption when I first found out I was pregnant so it was like it was their child all along..it was hard let me tell you, but it was worth it knowing the outcome. After this pregnancy I plan to donate egg's, but I hope everything goes well with your decisions and all
