I never used an electric pump, she ate directly from the breast, mainly so I just had an avent manual pump and it worked fine.

I had a cheap pump I now have a cheap paper weight. I ended up buying the medlea pump and style advanced I love it it works well enough for me at work. I needed a pump for the first month and half my daughter wouldn't latch but my nipples are huge.
The only things I needed were nursing pads(disposable or cloth) I leaked till 4 months and nursing bras/tank tops <- they are my best friend. If you want to cover up nursing covers are great if not you just need the baby and your boobs.
Oh and probably a lactation consultant you feel comfy with. The one at the hospital I hated but I had one at wic that was really helpful to me
