Size of baby at 30 weeks
posted 10th Jan
So I had my 30 week Ultrasound..... due to gestational diabetes the doc wants to monitor growth... Baby is estimated to weight 5 pounds..... Anyone else have measurements this big? How accurate are they? And at this rate if it is accurate how big will he be? I have heard 3 to 4 pounds is the norm for this age, and the tech told me the Ultrasound can be off by a pound.... Any advice or input on the topic would be great.. Thanks!

My son was around four pounds at that stage. He was born at 8 lbs 14 oz at 39 weeks. If I had gone to 40 he probably would've been over 9 lbs. I didn't have GD.

My sister had her son at 31 weeks he was just over 4lbs. Her daughter was born at 40 weeks & was 9lbs+. She didn't have GD either time.

20weeks 5 days he weighed exactly what he should and now is so big.... I don't understand how he measures exact and then measures over 3 weeks big now...

Everyone and every pregnancy is different, sorry I cant help with more definite answers. Probably no need to worry. Sounds like you have a healthy baby I am measuring almost 2 weeks later to my due date as far as babys growth.
