depo shot

So it's almost time for another depo shot. I'm not sure if I'm going to get it or not. I have heard that the more depo shots you get the harder it becomes later to have more babies. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I love the convience of the depo shot but I don't want to keep getting it if it will hurt my fertility later on.

My biggest issue with long term depo use is bone loss. How long have you been on it?

I was on it for 6 years before getting pregnant, but when I was reading the info packet they give you it DOES say that it can decrease fertility so, it's a risk you take when on it.


ETA: i mean i was on it for 6 years, and STILL got pregnant lol.

I have major bone loss from Depo, but I was on it for 3+ years.

Everytime I fall, I break something. I hate it

Im no expert on depo, but in my experience, it was terrible. With only one shot it took me and my husband over 2 years to concieve our second child. But, i have heard that some woman get pregnant on it, and I have heard that it takes some woman a while to have another baby. So i guess it all depends on the woman.

I only had one shot since my daughter was born. But I was on it before and it took me two years of going off it to get pregnant. I don't want anymore kids right now. I would like more eventually. I am starting to consider a different a method.

Yeah i would look into other methods of BC. Depo really is horrible.

I'm not even sure what other option I would consider. I don't like the shot honestly. I don't want to take a pill every day. I don't want something hanging out in vagina either. I'm thinking about maybe the implanon or the Ortho Evra.

I use the NuvaRing and I love it. Maybe look into that.

That form goes against my not wanting anything hanging out in vagina. I don't want anything that has to be stuck inside me. My cousin got pregnant on the Mirena and it caused her to daughter to be born at 22 weeks. Her baby didn't make it and that scares me.

Sorry just assumed you meant where you didnt have the option to remove it yourself like an IUD.

So i think the patch would be my best bet

im due for 2nd shot in march. i hate it! it's so awful. im going with an IUD!
