Why won't she sleep?

posted 10th Jan
My LO is 17 months old. She goes to bed at 9 every night and wakes up SCREAMING at the same times every single night for the past month. She wakes up at midnight, 3:30, 4:30, 6, then 7 for the day. She screams and nothing calms her down unless she comes to bed and sleeps with her head on my chest.

I'm not against letting her cry it out when she's just whining a little, but this crying and screaming is terrible. She wakes up my 6 month old every time.

When she is sleeping, even in our bed, she cries and whines in her sleep.
She was just diagnosed with asthma a month ago and she meets with her pulmonary specialist tomorrow, is this something to bring up to him?
Is she having nightmares? Any advice would be appreciated.

When my son would so that, I would make him a packet of oatmeal and warm milk and he would sleep like a baby after that.

1-2 hours each day. Usually 10-12 or 12-1.

And does the crying/wimpering also happen during her nap?

No. She just started sleeping through the night at exactly 1 year, which was after baby was born and this screaming thing started a month ago.

Sometimes, but only once or twice.. like an I can't get comfy whine.

What do toddler's have nightmares of? Our TV is on for an hour a day as background noise on the Baby channel or playing toddler tunes. She hasn't had any bad experiences or anything like that so I don't know.

Her cough is worse and her breathing is a little heavier in the night.. could that be contributing to the problem?

LO does that.

He screams, but I give him five minutes before going in. He usually goes right back to sleep.

If he goes longer than that, I give him a couple hylands teething tablets and rock and sing to him until he calms down. He usually goes back down after that and falls asleep.

We've tried all that

She will cry and scream forever if we let her. After 5 minutes one of us goes to get her to try to calm her down.

The dark, big people. Falling, the dark. Lots of things. Put yourselve at your 17 months height, you almost always have to look up to see stuff.
