I did Healthy Start when I lived in Florida. My nurse was so shocked to find out I had a cat. A male to boot. I just don't see how hard it is to do things right from the get go.

Hell...I have mice. I had 6 baby mice to take care of- 3 males, 3 females. I got rid of all but two the day they turned 4 weeks because we do not want anymore right now (though we intend to breed in the future for the extra money as feeders and pets.) If I couldn't have gotten rid of the bucks in time, I would have just euthanized them (humanely, of course.) They start breeding at 6 weeks old. Can you imagine if all three females had gotten pregnant? The average litter is 7-12 pups!

I cried when my babies left, but it was best for everyone.

Sometimes it takes a mini-crisis for people to understand the amount of time and money that goes into keeping a pet. I'm glad that things are turning out fine for you afterall. MJ and the mice both fell into our laps. Thne mice came from a pregnant mouse we found that wound abandoning the entire litter. I hand raised the little guys. Luckily, mice are relatively inexpensive pets, haha. MJ just invited herself into the apartment. After a coupke of days of going back and forth, we just decided we're going to keep her and make her an inndoor cat. Especially since we just spoke to the woman who saved her life.

The property manager and woman that bottlefed MJ are excited to see us take her in. Poor kitty's only 6 months old and started her life by being left to die in the neighbor's yard.

Quoting Devil's Advocate:" I just have no sympathy for bad pet owners."

You keep telling her to throw the cats outside so they can end up sick, dead or having a million babies. and you think this isnt being a bad pet owner? a cat is an animal its going to do animalistic things like pee in places its not supposed to. she has said a million times she is getting them new homes which is the smart thing to do, but instead of being a kind person and give her advice on how to clean the mess you continue to find reasons to put her down and degrade her. I will make sure that I keep you in my prayers.

Nobody's telling her to just throw them out and lock the door. They're telling her to put them outside until she can find new homes for them so she can work on getting the cat smell out of her house. This thread didn't turn to bitching until the OP clearly was ignoring everyone's advice to get rid of the cats immediately. She insists on keeping them to rehome them herself. To some of us, that's a red flag.
