and honestly it's in the baby budget we literally put it into the rest of our before baby comes budget. She marked the bassinet and that was IT. It was over after that. Lol she was lucky she didn't end up outside. and the kitten will be spayed the first instance I notice she's coming into heat.

This is true. I went on vacation a few months ago and left my BFF watching my house and when I came home...my 6 year old, very well behaved cat had smurf on the floor. I go in the laundry room and sure enough, his box was full!

I had room mates who had two cats and literally hadn't cleaned their box in 3 mo. and they were pissing and smurffing in the small half bath down stairs and they just ignored it and kept the door close half the time. I don't understand people who get cats just to ignore their needs. Dogs too. But they're a little less high maintenance to me.

Wait aa minute...you said they won't use a litter box, that they prefer to pee behind the couch. Someone suggested you put the litter box behind the couch to which you replied they kick the litter out when you do that.

she said at one point that they were litter trained, and then 'stopped'
That was my reply with the
"Then the cat box wasn't cleaned enough"

Either way

She admitted to not reading my entire rant which I probably wouldn't have either, but seriously what is she going to do when it comes time to potty training her child. Is the same thing only easier it only takes anywhere from a few days to tops 2 weeks to train kittens.

IDK, we just got DD a puppy for Christmas and potty training him is a pain in the ass. I adore my low maintenance cat

Now all of a sudden they're litter trained two or three posts after you said they never used the litter.

My cats just annoying cause she's in heat all the time <3 I can't wait till after Tuesday so she can be my awesome lovely kitty again. We were pregnant together for 65 days <3 I miss those sweet quiet less stressful days. Now she whales and marks >.> If it weren't for SO I would've tossed her out. Hormones made it hard to tolerate. So I finally made an apt. On his day off to go get her fixed lol.

I know with my daughter's kitten it was simple. I stuck him in the litter box as soon as he came home and had him scratch the litter like my neighbor showed me. He never pissed anywhere but in his box. I know sometimes it's harder, but according to what I've been told it's as simple as getting them to scratch around in the litter usually.

MJ still doesn't have a box yet, but she goes out through the window to pee and comes back in when she's done. She's getting a box this weekend because once she sees that vet on Wednesday her outdoor days are DONE.

No use she's gone.
Usually they run after you post your little
"Run, run far."
LOL

Hopefully all this bitching aside
Which I apologize for to an extent but damn it's not that hard is all.
She'll figure something out
I'm with Healthy families, which is a little less invasive more so because it's my first, and the only thing she ever said to me about my cat was "Aw how precious just make sure SO does the box"

SO wasn't happy, but if she had said lose the cats I would've SPCA'd her even though she were pregnant would have broken my heart but honestly it's in their interest too...

Are you refferring to this post?
" No, they never went in the litter box. They'd kick the litter into the floor, and then still go everywhere behind the couch."

I think when she said that, she meant that once she moved the litter box behind the couch, they didn't go in it then. But, that previous to moving the box, they had used it, just stopped for whatever reason.

We're putting away some money out of my settlement for emergency vet visitts and what not. Which reminds me...I need to find an exotic vet for the mice just in case they come down with something tetracycline can't fix.

We lost 4 out of 5 kittens it was only 2 months after we'd gotten her, and it broke my heart because I think 3 including the one that did make it, would have been fine. I think she interbred. And we didn't have the money because she was a surprise so I've been putting money away for vets and stuff since that happened. I would have had the money for a kitty c-section, she still had one very pretty little girl   Which is now my second baby... Lol

You just need to be able to afford these things if you are going to have animals, and I learned that the hard way hearing I "Shouldn't have taken in a cat without the money etc., etc.," But oh well. We've put some back for future troubles.
