Did you ever go to a party as a teen with friends and ever think it wasn't a safe place? You think your safe with friends. I am a paranoid smurfer, because of life experiences, god save the persona who ever try's to break into my house because I have all areas covered, my DDs are very aware of dangers and how to protect the selfs if they feel threatened. But at 16 when I went to my friend house btw my close circle of friends were all male, and had a drink I went with the thought in my head "these are my friends" not "one of these days one of these guys might rape me because I came here.."
Take all the precautions you can but never assume because of these things is wont happens and that your actions never mind how small will not be the cause for someone to say she put herself in that situation.

So here's what I am talking about in how we're trying to be more balanced and not focus solely on how not to get raped but in conjunction with looking at the perpetrater and encouraging them and others to also be "hyper aware"

Yeah. I engaged in a lot of risky behavior when I was a teenager, even into my early 20s. There were probably many times I would have been an easy target for a predator. I'm fortunate nothing ever happened to me.
Your situation is different because the girl in Ohio wasn't hanging out with a small circle of friends in someone's basement. Of course you wouldn't expect your friends to hurt you. You weren't engaging in risky behavior.

I had done that before. You know when someone states in their profile they have one view and one view only that simply cannot be changed and that people regularly call them hateful and surprise surprise you cannot have a calm debate with them without them calling you every bitch, smurfer, go screw yourself piece of smurf that hey they've given a pretty accurate description of themself lol

No my close friends were male, but one of my friend would have party's not in basement (don't think I know anyone with a basement they aren't common here) but a house. You would think your safe, these are your friend friends, or family in cases. Your not on the streets not with people huge number of people out haven't met before, nor (in my case I got a lift home in a taxi always because my
Mum worked nights and there was no buses for the nights we were just hanging or a guy friend who lived down the street from me walked me past my house) did you ever walk home alone. You don't think someone's going to drug you,and film raping you..drag you to another party to be raped again. Are our days as child' to be lived in fear?
Where the hell did these guys get the drugs from? I mean seriously how the hell? Even at my age I couldn't get my hands on those drugs without a prescription! Then people try to cover all that up..it's just sad.

I understand what you're saying, but that's not the reality for everyone.

The girl in Ohio wasn't engaging herself in any risky behaviour either though.

Yeah I've pretty much the same experience as you. Apart from walking home myself, never done that but many do.
Drugs are easy to come by unfortunately, I know a girl in 1st year expelled for selling drugs in School. I had went to primary school with her too, we were all shocked
I'm not saying some people aren't stupid for not take precautions but it doesn't mean they were asking for it.
I know of a friends ex, she met a guy online, he was a friend of a friend and they had met briefly a few times. she went to meet him, he lived in Glasgow which isn't too far from dundee a couple hours drive, they were going to meet at the train station, then go to the coffee shop down the road and at a little mini date to see if they got on as well in person as they did online.
having told my friend this he demanded in his own overly paranoid way he go with her on the train and he he would hang out near by whilst she was on her date, if she needed to a get away be was only a few minutes away because he knew where she would be.
So they get there and this ex goes off with her date. Only her dates forgot his wallet but its ok he lives across from the station, if she walks across with him he will run up stairs and get it, so she thinks ok it's not like I'm going to go up stairs with him. So she goes to the entrance of his flats (I remind you this is in Glasgow city centre, second biggest city in Scotland lots of people in the street) and three guys walk up behind her and pull her into the entennce closing the door behind them, she was raped repeatedly and suffered major injurys.
The precautions were all in place, she thought she was safe by being prepared. Nothing could have stopped that. These guys were following her from the second she got off that train, and when it went to court it came out they had a back up plan if she chose not to follow him to that door way, they had done this to another girl.
It doesn't matter about how ready you are, it can happen but if it does there should be justice not a cover up.
