I think Ive made up my mind...

This pregnancy has been horrible! With the sickness, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, RLS, stress ,etc... I think that I want to make things less complicated and decide not to attempt to breastfeed and opt for my csection.

Why would you choose not to bf because of your preg?!?! Bfing releases endorphins and makes you happier, helps you get your uterus down faster, and baby is easily comforted by it so not nearly as much fussiness and it's gentle on their tummy so they won't have hardly any if any constipation issues or spitting up problems.

Quite frankly I think that would make things MORE complicated.

Major surgery, expense of formula, increased rates of PPD.

I will attempt to but Im not going to push it. I also have to go back on all my meds.. (zoloft for depression, Clonazepam for anixety and amitriptylne for tension headaches) which Im pretty sure that breastfeeding on those meds is a no-no.

Seriously. Natural birth and BFing are not complicated at all...

I had a csection with my first because he was 9lbs 13 oz and this baby might be bigger.

Sorry I shouldve explained all this in the first place.

Not to be offensive or anything did you try a vaginal birth and had a emergency c section?

So? Women push out big babies all the time. My mom VBAC'd with a 9 lb 14 oz baby. I pushed out a 9 lb 8 oz baby.

And you never now how much their estimate can be off by.

The Zoloft is fine. The amitriptyline is recommended after baby is 2 mod but does not show any effect of the infant after then. The clonAzepam you'd have to discuss with your dr.

Sometimes it is complicated. My first delivery was natural and I had problem after problem. I had a c section this time and it went very well and recovery is going smoothly. It just depends.. every person is different

There very good alternatives to those medications and breastfeeding will likely help with a lot of your mental health issues. I'm not trying to be a boob nazi or anything, either. I am speaking from experience as a mentally ill mother who suffers from PTSD, Schizoaffective Disorder, OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder along with Poly-Substance Dependence. I actually had to quit my medications because they were extremely dangerous for baby and won't be able to start again until I quit breastfeeding. There are dozens of supplements you can take that are safe for baby and will help far more than any pharmaceutical because they are more actively received by your body. Just some things to consider, especially since you are at an extremely high risk for PPD, especially if you opt to formula feed.

A c-section is major abdominal surgery and far more likely to be "complicated". I don't care how "different" every person is. Just because you had a good experience with a c-section doesn't mean it's not riskier or that it's more favorable.

I agree, though I can understand opting for a c-section. Especially if her last experience with labor was traumatic.

I just wish people would do more research on the benefits of breastfeeding for your mental health. It seems like so many people are quick to say "oh I'm mentally ill. I can't breastfeed because of my meds." There are alternatives out there.
