when to test?

Dh and I had sex today... I am unsure of ovulation due to being 10 months pp with irregular periods.
My cm was dry but is now startingto get creamy...
When would be the earliest I should test assuming I am about to ovulate in the next few days and taking into account sperm can live for around 5 days...?
