omg that is one of the scariest things i have ever read. now i am goign to panic every time lylian chokes on water in the bath. she is always inhaling water, for some reason she wont learn to exhale when water touches her face, she ALWAYS takes a deep breath in   one more thing to make me even more pranoid of this earth   thanks for adding to my anxiety(just kdding). so does anyone understand ho whim having an accident in the pool was a sign of the water in the lungs? and isnt it weird that a 10 yr old was having his first time swimming?

That is sad!! i saw it on the news today and i told Sophia she is never going swimming! whenever i see something horrible happen to a child i tell Sophia she is never doing that. Its tough because something can happen anywhere anytime. Im paranoid.

your lungs pass oxygen to your brain through the blood. water in your lungs restricts the oxygen. if your brain is short on oxygen, you can loose control of bodily functions and it could also just make you act a little off.

i don't think it's too weird to go swimming for the first time at 10.. maybe he was afraid of water before, and most states don't have as many swimming pools as we have in az..
