DD learning to self soothe

posted 10th Jan
Totally sucks   I just want to pick her up and kiss her and snuggle with her.

But I can't keep waking up 10 times a night with an 18 month old. Ugh. This makes me want to cry.

Co-sleeping isn't an option? GL... I'd hate that, idk.

Yes we usually co-sleep but trying to get her in her own bed. It sucks. She's already back to sleep, though. Only cried about 4 minutes. Of course I talked to her and told her it was okay, etc. I didn't ignore her or anything. It just sucks.

I have a book called the "no cry sleep solution" which you could try if you want to. as the title implies, there is generally minimal or no crying. I can email you the pdf version if you PM me.

I did this with my son at around 18 months old. First day was extremely hard. The first time, I'd let him cry for about 2mins, then go in and reassure him. Then the next time 4mins and so on. Longest I let him cry for was 10mins. By the 3rd day he was sleeping through no hassles at all.
Gl, it's hard but it does get easier

It just didn't work last night. She started sobbing and wouldn't stop so I picked her up.

There will be times like that, and it's fine to pick them up for a cuddle....ESP if they are sobbing
