Provera

Hey ladies. I have a questions. I had a miscarriage 2 months ago and haven't had a period since. My OBGYN put me on Provera to kick start a period. Well out of curiosity I took an ovulation test and it said I was ovulating. I still have 3 days left on the Provera. My question is, do you think I can get pregnant while on Provera? Since I'm ovulating I would like to try just not sure how great my chances are on conceiving. Let me know if you have had any experience with this or your opinions on the matter. Thanks in advance

Depo provera stops the period. That's the only kind of provera I've ever heard of... so I'd say no chances are you can't get pregnant

its not the depo provera shot.....so I wasn't sure. My doc put me on a 10mg tab for 10 days

You're most likely not ovulating. The Provera can cause a positive ovulation test. Since your progesterone level would be high right now due to the Provera the OPK can pick up the high progesterone level giving you a positive OPK.

I've taken Provera MANY times because I went nearly 9 years without a period. I've also done fertility treatments and I have to take progesterone after ovulation, every cycle I get a positive OPK after ovulation because it's picking up my progesterone level. Even my RE confirmed that, that was what was happening.

It's possible that you'll ovulate after the Provera! I have, my pregnancies ended in a miscarriage but that wasn't due to the Provera, I just have very low progesterone.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Have they suggested giving you extra progesterone during your pregnancies? Thank you for your input. Fingers crossed it wont be too long before i get the BFP
