FEAR...scared...help...:/

posted 9th Jan
So I always get this feeling at night time. Mostly like late night around midnight or later. I feel as though I'm being watched or even stalked. Like something/someone is creeping around watching me waiting to attack. And I get to terrified I won't get off my couch to go to my room. Because when I do try that, I get this intense feeling like something is right behind me. Uhrrrr... Just talking about it creeps me out.. I've always got these feeling but when I was younger it was kind of funny maybe, like exciting to run away from it. Now, it seriously scares the smurf out of me. Like to the point where I have panic attacks. I've always also had anxiety and am manic depressant. So I wonder if that has something to do with it, or if this feeling is common and kick starts my anxiety. I sometimes have to text my bf or whoever else is in the house to come I to the room I'm in to turn on the lights and walk me to the bedroom, because im too scared to yell or them and make noise. ..Ill admitt I'm scared of the dark but its only because of this smurf!
Does anybody else experience this? To this extreme? Any thoughts on what causes it? Name for it? Anybody think its actual spirit interaction or maybe some sort of instinct people have naturally?

Here I thought I was the only one .... When my SO worked until 12 am I would have very light in the room I was in on and stay in the living room so I wasn't in the room thinking someone was in my living room.....I've always been not afraid of the dark but afraid of what or who might be in it and just to go to the bathroom I trim on very light.... After a hit I realized that since I stopped watching mystery and scary show like criminal minds or any other show that has stuff pop up in the dark it was jut out of my head and I didn't think about it but since I have discover the vampire diaries and the jumping and creeping up on ppl. And drama has put me back into that state and I need to stop but I can't cause the shows are so good   I pretty much bring it on myself and my mind over thinks it

It happens to me too every once in a while. Mostly it happens in the middle of the night. I'll get up and walk to the bathroom and then feel like something is watching me or out to get me and I will just freeze until i talk myself into moving and going back to bed. Yes I also remember it happening when i was a kid.

Now that I'm thinking about it, i remember one 'episode' when i was a little kid .. maybe 12ish. My parents are very religous and I went to a private school. I decided that feeling of someone watching me was a demon of some type, so i spent the night crying and singing hymns until i fell asleep.

When I was a teen I felt like someone was outside my window...............come to find out I was right. He was my friends husbands cousin, apparently he had a crush on me and later admitted to watching me in my bedroom.

The weird thing is I absolutly adore horror movies. I either watch horror or romantic movies like the notebook.. And they scary movies never have bothered me my uncle and mom used to make my cousins and me watch them when we were little kids so I just learned to love them. The only movie that ever left a creepy feeling with me was the movie darkness falls....and it's not even scary! It's some cheesy movie like from the early 2000s but I've just always feared the dark so that's probably why it creeped me out. I'm not scared of the outside night time darkness... Just inside with the lights off... So weird

I don't have anxiety problems or anything but I feel the same way at my parents house. I thought it was just me but then I moved out and didn't feel scared like that again so I thought maybe I just grew out of it but now Im back visiting my parents and its back. I got so.used to sleeping in a completely dark room since i moved out and the first night I was back I went to turn the light off with the door shut to sleep and I turned it off and I was just like "nope not doing that again."

I'm this way ever since an elderly man near us was murdered last year.
It freaks me out cause DH doesn't get home until 11:30pm and we're out in the country in BFE. They never found who did it either.

It was pretty creepy, I remember even borrowing my friends pit and chained her to a tree outside my window.

Jesus, when I lived at my parents house we had to go up steps to go to bed and if I stayed up later than every odd and was left alone downstairs I'd either sleep Dow stairs, run upstairs as fast as I could having a panic attack almost crying. Or call my dad to comedown stairs. I remember waking up after falling asleep Dow stairs when I was like 8 and feeling like there was somebody laying and waiting next to the couch. I screamed for my dad as loud as I could crying until he came running down to save me. It was honestly traumatizing!
