I'd cuss out my spouse if they told me I couldn't get something I enjoy when they think they are more important and think they can get theirs. And lets be honest, your camera is probably going to be a hobby too. Not many people can bring in significant money doing photos.

You get to use a camera for free during class. If you are currently poor you are putting yourself into a cycle. I'm not sure how you don't see that.

Yea, I would rather make more and pay too, but atm until I decide what the hell I'm going to go to school for i'm stuck working 2 jobs...which I mean is fine by me for the time being. I'm hoping over the summer I just figure it out so I can go to school this fall.

Single mom, 2kids (so the tax credit for that), federal EIC and state EIC.

yes yes yes.. he works hard blah blah but did anyone see where he pissed away all our taxes last year?? He did the same the year before. He DOES get what he wants. I have no clothes and he buys himself fishing smurf. I dont ever complain. This year, I wanted to do something productive with our taxes. So smurfing what I want a camera. Just because theres a ton of faux-tographers out there doesnt mean I wont succeed. My SIL is crappy as hell but makes 500 a month from her smurffy pictures. Its a good possibility I can make money. And I AM going to school. SO that being said.. I obv do not feel like Im being selfish. We arent pissing anything away this year.. Im trying to finally get a head.

The point is after the necessities are taken care of if you get a WANT who gives a smurf if he wants something too. Quit acting like a brat. You're a married woman, not a freaking kindergartner. Tantrums are for toddlers.

We take our tax money and split it three ways. One part me, one part him and third part savings. We don't get a whole lot but we get a decent amount.

Do you like it when he pisses away money? I'm sure you don't. Then why are you expecting him to just be ok with ou doing the same?
Cause like others have said a camera is a want and let's face it, the likelihood you will make money taking pics? Slim to non. It's not an easy job or easy money. I paid a "beginner" $100 to do my wedding. That's not smurf for money but unless you are great? No one is gonna pay.
