Umm, not pissing anything away. Car, clothes, and bills are a need. A good quality camera is both a want/need. My point and shoot is shot, and I want to try my hand at photography, I already have people asking me to do pictures when I get one. It wont be for nothing. A pole is not a need. Not when he already has a ton.

But you don't need a camera either. If it's something you are super passionate about, then by all means...but don't just jump in thinking you will be able to start charging people right away and recoup the money spent on it.

Well we always pay, but I think it's stupid when people buy a bunch of smurf with their return, then go complain they are soooo broke.

Because anything left over I want to save, not spend hundreds on a stupid pole when he already has some. A camera isnt going to sit in my basement collecting dust.

I think you're being unfair. Like someone else said, it's not going to make you money or be a career right away. You said it means a lot to you so what if the fishing rod means a lot to him? I think you should get both the camera and fishing rod or neither. I'd be hurt and upset if DH said he was getting something that he really wanted but I couldn't get what I really wanted.

You don't even know if your good. You just said you don't ever have money. So save it and go take a class at a CC.

We cant afford to buy stupid smurf like that. Everything I listed is a need. The camera WILL benefit us, a pole WILL NOT.

lol yea My dad always pays. I should get at least 6 back this year (I'm pretty darn stoked) but I'm buying a car, getting my liscense, paying off some past debt, and investing some in the stock market, then the rest I'm gonna go do some rediculous stuff with the kids like vaccation this summer to our lake house and do some stuff in memphis and then yea. Oh and some will go towards current bills too

Because last year we got 8k and he pissed it away. I got nil. And Im tired of him saying we are gonna do this or that. I never get any say. This year I said no, Im tired of it. We never get caught up like he says we will, hes not good with money.

Well I would rather make more and pay, so it works. Sounds like you have a good plan.

I am going to school this fall. Still will need a camera for those classes.
