Really odd situation today.

My son had a 4:30 hair appointment a town over at a salon my mom was raving about last week.

We get there and we're met by a frantic woman saying that if he's Carter, she can't cut his hair.

Then continues to explain that her 12 year old has been "missing" for two hours.
She got off the ferry (not uncommon to do that at this age here) and 'was seen getting into some strangers car'.

And apparently hadn't been responding to her phone for 2 hours.

So she was panicking under the assumption that her child had been "abducted".

I told her we totally understand and would reschedule, so sorry, good luck etc etc

But it was just so..odd.
I was thinking it but obviously didn't say it,
but her twin sister who is the receptionist there was thinking it was just a 12 yr old girl, leaving with some driving-aged boy, and then ignoring her mom's calls.

What would you think?
I'm kinda nervous to go back there friday

I would be flipping out too if my child was missing.

I'd probably be freaking out too   Poor woman. I wouldn't hold it against her.

i'd be frantic too...but then again i wouldnt be letting a 12 year old on a ferry alone...common in the area or not. Hopefully she's found and that she was only with a friend.

I'd be freaking out too. I also would have had the receptionist call you sooner to reschedule rather than having you go all the way there

That's kinda what i'm thinking might happen, i'm nervous to go back friday because i don't know if i'm supposed to ask how it went orrrr.... i don't want to seem rude!
I've given two little girls a ride from the ferry up to their school before.
But her aunt (the sister) said that she's "pretty naughty" so wouldn't put it past her to just be off ignoring mom.
I mean, i know them 0% so i can't really make any assumptions.

yeah it was kinda weird cos there were two other employees there that i guess..couldn't do the hair cut?
i didn't want to reschedule, i figured mine as well just go somewhere in my own town..but uh, felt kinda pressured to.

Odd!!! Umm I would just go to somewhere in my town regaurdless.
