Yeah but her neighbor didn't have a baby, she did. Really he shouldn't have to hear the baby either. Clearly the solution is to sound proof the building

They sound like my downstairs neighbours. The party STARTS at 9pm so you just know it will be going until 2 or 3. I would rather deal with them earlier in the night than later on when they are drunk.

Does the baby still wake up at night r.. When he says 'keeps me up' does that mean he goes to sleep at 3/4am like a jackass then wants to sleep all day and the baby keep him "up" in the morning, because you don't sleep all day? That's what I would think. My reply would've been- well maybe if my child could get some sleep before 2am she/he wouldn't be so cranky and keep waking up!

I don't see how that's making fun of your baby. Being a jerk sure, but making fun of the baby no. Making fun of a baby would be saying "Your baby is lopsided in the face and looks like a turtle." Not "Well the baby crying keeps me up and crying doesn't soothe me." I'd be kinda pissed if someone's kid kept me up all night all the time too but understand that sometimes it can't be helped. I think you're over reacting assuming he is making fun of your baby.

You cannot disturb someone elses peace no matter what time of day it is. If he is playing music so loudly she can hear it in her apartment she can call the police at noon if she wants.

Actually no. They won't do anything until after a certain time.

Why does him going to bed so late make him a jackass?   Maybe he works night shift and this is the sleep schedule he's on? I don't go to bed until 6am, and don't wake up until 2-3pm. Not everyone should have to accommodate to a baby. When living in an apartment, that is one of the downsides. You have neighbors, all of who will be different and have different lifestyles, and you deal with it.

LOL but if he were to call the cops about a crying baby...

It's the life of living in an apartment. Crying babies... people playing music. My downstairs neighbor enjoys blasting Eminem at noon (when I'm sleeping) and making the glass in my coffee table thump and rattle from the bass. I've never called the cops because it's REALLY not that serious

Who gives a smurf if he pays rent or if the baby keeps him up it is a baby, I would be pissed if he had an attitude. I am sure if you live in apartment you can file a complaint. It is after 11 here I think some people fail to realize their is different time zones. If it continues until late you could probably even call police. He is an smurf talk to your landlord.

Here they'd laugh at you and tell you to stop being an ass and deal with it.
